Yes, all of our campers get to enjoy the pool. If your child does not swim, there is a splash pad for cooling off that will be monitored by our camp counselors. We will also have yard games set up for our campers to do and a playgound.
This year we will be bussing our students to the Washington Boro Pool. They will be opening the pool early for our campers and they have certified life guards on duty in addition to our staff.
All of our staff is trained in First Aid and CPR through the American Heart Association. They also receive training in classroom management using positive reinforcement, camp rules and regulations, what to do in an emergency, and working with students with disabilties.
On open mind, a positive attitude and lunch/snacks for the day. A refillable water bottle each day is important and a change of clothes and a towel on pool days. Please do not bring toys from home as pieces may get lost or broken. No electronics! If students have cell phones, they will be stored in their bags for the day. We will provide cell phone numbers for our teachers as well as the school phone number in case of a family emergency or change of plans in pick up.
Yes we do! Camp takes place at Warren County Technical School which follows the same security guidelines and protocols as your child's regular school. The exterior doors are always locked. There is an intercom system to speak with the front office if you need entry into the school. Next, there is a breezeway where visitors enter but are still behind another door until they are picked up by a staff member. We also have a Resource Officer who frequently monitors the school.
We want to enjoy the summer sun as much as possible, but we also need to keep kids safe from overexposure to the sun which is why we have a mix of indoor and outdoor activities throughout the day. Our classes are held in an air conditioned classroom and sporting events and outdoor games are outside. We have tented areas for shade outside as well. Children are encouraged to come wtih sunscreen applied and a refilllable water bottle.
Yes, lunch is NOT provided by the camp. You will need to pack a lunch and snacks for your child for the day. We encourage 2 healthy snacks each day in addition to lunch. Lunches should be packed in a lunch bag with an ice pack. Lunch bags will stored indoors.
Your child will be engaged in structured classes and activities (STEM, crafts, music, games) with our certified teachers for much of the day. Counselors will accompy the campers in groups to each activity and help ensure all campers are participating and having fun. There is scheduled down time during snacks and lunch for the campers to enjoy hanging out with their friends. There is a sample schedule on the website. Camper will also have a choice activity in the afternoons to take a class that they want.
We're back and even better than before. We are offering a FULL day program this year with weekly swimming and field trips!
